Gunpyre

After Samuel woke up from a terrible headache he found himself in a cell.

After surviving an attack by some ghouls he finds two vampires transformed into guns. Form an alliance with the gunpyres

and use your own or your enemies' blood to defeat the dark lord of the dungeon.

This is currently my latest annual project for AIV. I joined the development team about halfway through its actual production and together with its two other level designers got to work on it. I had no problem learning their design methods, deadlines and workflow.

Gunpyre is a third-person isometric roguelike with twin shooting mechanics that focuses on eliminating enemies in a specific way in order to smoothly progress within the dungeon. To follow this design idea I had to create layouts, implement them in Unreal Engine in the form of blockouts and iterate them in such a way as to verify that the gameloop was working.

Even if the enviroment artists had to place walls, floors and lighting I helped them when needed asking alway for feedbacks to my team. After many tries we finally found the mood for our game and the result was very good to everyone.
